Hi-Def Liposculpture for Men

Hi-def liposculpture is an option that men who hope achieve the “six-pack-abs” level of success with abdominal cosmetic surgery will want to consider.

Hi-def – or high definition – liposculpture uses ultrasonic energy and can be utilized by a talented surgeon to selectively reduce fat while simultaneously creating muscle definition in a targeted area.

More specifically, the ultrasonic waves are transmitted beneath the skin to liquefy the fat for ease of removal, and the hi-def technique focuses on the precise removal of the superficial and deep fat surrounding a particular muscle group. The resulting effect is that the underlying musculature is attractively accentuated.

While the technique is most commonly used on the abdominal area, it can also be used to define biceps, triceps and deltoids. Compared to other liposculpture techniques, the hi-def option is widely considered to be the “next generation” for body contouring. It is important to understand, however, that high definition liposculpture is not in any way intended to be a “debulking” or weight loss technique; it is designed strictly for body sculpting purposes. For this reason, only generally fit men with good muscle tone and without excessive amounts of fat or loose skin are considered good candidates for the procedure.

Also, one should realize that having the surgery will not alleviate the need for a conventional fitness program. That is, men who have liposculpture will still need to continue their fitness regime. That said, many men find taking advantage of this type of surgical “assistance” boosts their motivation for the more routine physical body sculpting efforts, namely exercise and dietary controls and restrictions.

Finally, the hi-def technique should not be performed after massive weight loss or on patients who have severe stretch marks in the abdominal area, and it is not recommended for men with marked muscular laxity or skin laxity issues. Also, as with any surgical procedure, certain medical conditions can affect a patient’s viability as a candidate for the procedure. Poorly controlled diabetes, any infection, heart or circulation problems will generally disqualify you as a candidate for liposculpture since these conditions interfere with healing and recovery.

As you will note in the video below, hi-def liposculpture costs – often ranging from $15,000 to $25,000 depending on where the surgery is done and by whom – will undoubtedly make some men pause for deep consideration of the cost-focused liposculpture pros and cons. Still, the clip (from a Nightline segment) is worth watching if for no other reason than to get an idea of the amazing results some men have achieved with hi-def liposculpture.
